Een documentaire over de bibliobus in de Noordoostpolder is zaterdag in Emmeloord in première gegaan.

In de film draait het niet alleen om de bus, maar vooral om de personen die er gebruik van maken. Ook krijgt de kijker een beeld van het leven in de kleine dorpen in de polder.

De film wordt de komende week nog een paar keer vertoond in de bioscoop in Emmeloord. Op tweede pinksterdag is de documentaire te zien bij Omroep Flevoland.

Ramon will perform a Solo recital on marimba @ Schiermonnikoog Kamermuziek festival on 5th of october 2010. There will be an introduction to the marimba as well.

Ramon is nominated for the Grachtenfestival Prijs 2010.

Dit jaar wordt voor de vierde keer op rij de Grachtenfestivalprijs uitgereikt. De genomineerden zijn voorgedragen door gerenommeerde Nederlandse klassieke muziekjournalisten. De genomineerden zijn (in alfabetische volgorde): Ramon Lormans (percussie), Andre Morsch (bariton), Rosanne Philippens (viool), Trio Suleika (pianotrio) en Judith van Wanroy (sopraan).

U kunt stemmen op uw favoriet. De winnaar wint een concert in Sint Petersburg en op het Grachtenfestival 2011. De Grachtenfestivalprijs wordt uitgereikt op woensdag 18 augustus, tijdens EarBites, in Felix Meritis. U kunt uw stem uitbrengen tot en met vrijdag 13 augustus.

Sax & Stix goes International!

First in October duo Sax & Stix will perform in Concert Artist Guild competition in
New York - USA

In December the duo will play a recital in Paris in Institut Neerlandais.

Last week Ramon recorded the first CD with Lunapark Ensemble @ musiQ in Amsterdam. On the cd will be works by Aphex Twin, Brian Eno, Anthony Fiumara, Michael Gordon, David Lang, Arnold Marinissen and Laurie Scott-Baker.

Yesterday Brisk and Ramon played the premiere of two pieces:
"Trapped" by Hans Koolmees and "Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?" by Michiel Mensingh in arrangement by Ramon himself, for Recorcer quartet and marimba.

The wonderfull concert took place in Lutherse Kerk Groningen.

After a series of two wonderfull concerts with the Brabants Orchestra directed by Hans Leenders, Ramon will add pictures on his photo page of the percussion concerto Veni, Veni, Emmanuel! by James MacMillan.

Yesterday Ramon graduated with distinction for his masters diplome at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.

Last saturday (09-11-2009) Ramon made a CD recording with Flugelhorn player Maurice Daemen. The CD will be released at Adams music centre, Ittervoort, Netherlands on December 19th.

This week Ramon received news from the Conservatory of Amsterdam that he will be the new Marimba teacher together with Peter Prommel. From september 2008 Ramon will be associated professor at the Conservatory.

New auditions at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra have taken place for a Percussion Academy place. Ramon has won the audition and will be next two seasons with the orchestra to play as an extra player and receive coaching from all members of the orchestra.

Scratch is het nieuwe Amsterdam-based slagwerk Duo. De connectie tussen Ramon Lormans en Mark Braafhart bestaat al sinds hun studie aan het conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Ze spelen veelzijdig repertoire, waaronder transcripties van Ravel tot Piazzolla maar vooral eigentijdse muziek. Het visuele, theatrale aspect en hun energieke uitvoeringen zijn kenmerkend. Elk concert is een verhaal op zich. Een duidelijke onderliggende gedachte vormt de rode draad door het programma. Op deze manier heeft elk concert zijn eigen kleur.

On 26th of August Ramon will be playing a live radio performance on Avro Radio 4 in "De dag van de luisteraar".

This day Peter Vigh will compose a piece for marimba with percussion and flute. This will be on a request from a listener of the program.

Ramon will practise the composition from 17.00h with Janneke Groesz on flute. Then premiere it live at 19.30h broadcasted by the Avro Radio 4.

There will be a cd recording available afterwards.

From september 2007 Ramon will work as assistant teacher Marimba in the Conservatory of Amsterdam. As a part of his master study he will make a research in education and receive coaching in teaching conservatory bachelor students.

Saturday 26 may duo Sax & Stix played in the final round of the National Chamber music competition Almere.
They are awarded with the Audience prize and the First prize from the jury.

Sunday 8th of April duo Sax & Stix played a concert in the Muziekgebouw aan het IJ Amsterdam. It was the finals of the Grachtenfestival competition. The jury was inspired by their energetic, good performance. Next concert of duo Sax & Stix will be at 14 april, opening of the Gaudeamus competition for contemporary music, at 16.00h in Sweelinckzaal of the Amsterdam Conservatory. Hope to see you all there.
